Active Artist & Researcher Collaboration Network

The Online Symposium discusses topics that circulate in the collaborative network and is defined by the work and research of the members.

  • Active Artist & Researcher Collaboration Network (AARCN)

The Active Artist & Researcher Collaboration Network (AARCN) connects active artists, musicians, and researchers from around the world who are passionate about creative collaboration and interdisciplinary projects.
Our goal is to build an inspiring network where ideas, works, and research can be shared directly and transformed into real collaborations.

    What is it about?

Art, music, science, and society are deeply interconnected.
The AARCN provides a platform where artistic and scientific perspectives meet to initiate new projects.

    Within the network, members can:

    • Connect with other active artists and researchers
    • Find inspiration for their own projects
    • Start interdisciplinary collaborations
    • Present their work and research to an international audience

Participation is open to individuals only, in order to encourage direct and personal collaboration. Groups can be mentioned, but connections are established on an individual level.

    How does it work?

This information is updated regularly (twice a month) and shared only within the network.
In this way, a trusted pool of contacts is created from which all members can develop active collaborations.

“I explicitly agree to be listed in the Active Artist & Researcher Collaboration Network and to share my contact details with the other participants for the purpose of active artistic collaboration.”

    Why join?

    • Access to an international network of creative minds
    • Discover new project ideas and sources of inspiration
    • Make your own work visible and start collaborations
    • Be part of a safe and privacy-conscious environment

Giving Birth to an Idea – Sonic Territories Festival 2025

Sometimes ideas are not planned; they are born in conversation.
During one of the workshops at the Sonic Territories Festival 2025, something began to take shape — not a project in the formal sense, but a sense of connection. After the session ended, a few of us stayed behind, surrounded by cables, instruments, notebooks, and the soft hum of lingering sound. The discussion turned from the technical aspects of sonic art to what lies beneath: how we share, collaborate, and document our creative processes.

In that moment, the idea of an active artist and researcher collaboration network began to take form. It wasn’t announced or decided — it simply emerged, like a resonance between people who had been thinking along similar frequencies. The more we spoke, the clearer it became that we needed a space to continue these dialogues, to share not only finished works but also the fragile in-betweens — sketches, reflections, and processes.

What started as a casual conversation became the seed of a network — one that connects artists and researchers across disciplines and places, driven by curiosity and mutual respect. We envisioned a platform where art and research are not opposites, but parts of a single movement toward understanding and transformation.

The Sonic Territories Festival gave us more than inspiration; it gave us each other — and perhaps, the beginning of something that will continue to evolve and echo far beyond the festival itself.
